Stud1o E.A.R.T.H. is a design collective comprising an international team of young passionate fifth year architecture students from the University of Strathclyde. Our aim is to improve people’s lives through thought-provoking, and inspiring architectural research and design.

Our stage, is Paisley. Currently bidding to be City of Culture 2021 the Scottish town of Paisley is at a critical stage in its development.  Previously an industrial powerhouse of the nation, Paisley has suffered badly from loss of industry and commerce.  However the people of Paisley have become inspired by the City of Culture bid and there now exists a great amount of public and political will to see Paisley prosper once again.  It is this particular set of circumstances that drew our attention to the town to see how our projects could benefit the future prosperity of Paisley and in turn be enriched by the town.

Each member of Stud1o E.A.R.T.H will research, develop and present a thesis which they are interested in and feel is relevant to the group theme of Paisley. In order to enrich our projects we believe in a co-operative and collaborative design process that takes place in a studio environment.  We have grouped ourselves into four 'Meta-themes' that encapsulate our thesis topics. Each theme group will work together to help each other succeed.  All meta-theme groups will join together weekly to have a studio session in which to analyse our latest research and design.  This format, we believe, will allow individual creativity to develop and flourish within in a framework of support.​

Together, as Stud1o E.A.R.T.H we will be engaging.  We will remain community focused and consider every option to find the solutions.  We will be BOLD and we will be tenacious.  We will, through thoughtful and effective design, enable people to live better lives.
